**PSA**: If you recently got a new Samsung Galaxy S8 and the bluetooth audio through your car is terrible and distorted, disconnect from your smart watch while listening in your car.
This has been driving me nuts all week and I finally solved it this morning. I'm going to use words and phrases that are easily searchable on google since I hate having to hunt this shit down.
I have a 2017 Tacoma with an Entune sound system and on my iPhone the music was perfect and crisp over bluetooth. When I got my Samsung Galaxy S8 Active on Tuesday, I was going nuts trying to figure out why the sound was "cheap" and the high hats were distorted and had this really annoying PANG sound.
To clarify, I am using Google Play Music exclusively for my audio and I have the default samsung equalizer. I fiddled with all of the equalizer settings, made sure I was streaming in high quality, and downloaded all of my top songs. Nothing helped.
This morning I thought "Maybe it's the phone's bluetooth radio that sucks." But it's a brand new phone so there is no way this could be the case. I started fiddling with the bluetooth settings and ultimately decided to just flick the switch on the bluetooth connection to my Gear S3 Frontier.
It was like magic. The music INSTANTLY got more clear and sounded far better than even my iPhone did. Apparently Samsung's multiple bluetooth device mode or whatever puts a bottleneck on each device it is connected to.
Hopefully this helps anyone having a similar issue.
