How do I ensure all trace of a Microsoft Account is removed from Windows 10 Home build 1909?
I installed Win 10 Home Build 1909 on a laptop. Didn't know about the "You have to setup a Microsoft Account, sucker!" BS. Did some searching and found that if I hadn't hooked it up to WiFi I could've forced it to a local account.
Not wanting to go through yet another wipe and install I went ahead and use my phone number to make a new MS account. This stupid thing flat out would not take the ticket file for 10 Pro generated from 7 Pro activated on it. That has *always* worked before on any PC that'll take an OEM install of 7 Pro or Ultimate. 10 Home self activated automatically, no key required.
Now I've switched it to a generically named local account and I want to make 100% certain there's no way anyone will be able to recover the MS Account on it. Why? Because I want to sell the laptop.
Got it with a bad hard drive and a crappy Pentium P6200. I put in a 7200 RPM drive and an i5 CPU. If there was a cheap way to swap the 1366x768 LCD for at least a 1440x900 I'd keep it, or HackBook it and keep it.
