Am I The Only One Who Doesn't Get Foldable Phones

Any time I ask someone, but WHY do you want your phone to fold - no one can give me an answer that is worth a damn. Is it so you can have something thicker in your pocket? Is it so you can not see your notifications? What is it about foldable phones that makes you say - "Take my money!"?
