LPT: Access voicemail without entering your 4-digit PIN

All the android phones I have used, I have had to access my voicemail by diailing in (hold 1 on the number pad) and entering my 4-digit pin. I found a way to remove the last step.

I am using Google phone app on my Pixel 2 XL so YMMV. In the phone app, go to 'Settings' (top right corner), then Voicemail, then Advanced Settings, then Setup, then Voicemail Number. This will bring up the number used to access your voicemail inbox. Add a comma then your 4-digit PIN, and hit ok. It should look like this +1(123)456-7890,1234.

The comma adds a pause in the dialer to then enter in an extension, or in this case your PIN. The comma can be saved with other phone numbers where a single extension number is used.

Edit: I'm in Canada
