Smart Alarm Clock

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J Hello Reddit Users, I'm currently in the market for a new alarm clock but not sure where to start. I suppose I could just get a typical alarm clock, but whats the fun in that? I'm kinda looking for something that'll play the alarm, and once I shut it off it'll say "It is 65 degrees outside with a 30% chance or rain" or something like that. Obviously doesn't have to work exactly like that, just giving an example of what I am looking for. Any tips/suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks! Google Allo was advertising at the Gopher Football game tonight by sponsoring replays and trivia

Sorry about the photo quality, I was on the other end of the stadium and had to zoom. They had a few of these advertisements as well as different ones on the video boards that wrap around the stadium between the lower and upper deck. http://ift.tt/2wmFelw Submitted September 01, 2017 at 04:08AM by uofmike http://ift.tt/2vOleot http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Sad Change for Oreo

I just upgraded my pixel to oreo, only to find out all the emojis have been redesigned and the blobs that I know and love have been removed. I can't believe they would take away the best set of emojis and replace them with a bunch of generic full circles, really disappointed with this change. How would r/android react to a phone that actually replaced headphone jack with USB-C?

Imagine a phone with two USB-C ports, top and bottom. Your 3.5mm headphones would require adapters, but you can at least listen to music while charging. Submitted September 01, 2017 at 04:48AM by onebananalong http://ift.tt/2vOwocV http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

T-Mobile set to show off its next Uncarrier moves on September 6

From killing off contracts and bringing back unlimited data plans to a rewards program, T-Mobile ‘s Uncarrier events tend to include some sort of significant progression for the magenta-colored carrier. Google encourages developers to make standalone Android Wear apps

Image
One of Android Wear 2.0 ‘s marquee features is its support for standalone apps. This eliminates the need to constantly have your phone nearby to send data to your smartwatch apps, since they can now function like your typical smartphone app. As nice as standalone apps are, they remained exclusive to Android Wear 2.0 until today, when Google announced that standalone apps also work with Android Wear 1.0. Diving into the policy change requires a bit of context, which is where multi-APKs come in. In short, they enable standalone watch apps and faces to exist because they separate an Android Wear app from its corresponding smartphone app. Not only do multi-APKs allow developers to create standalone watch apps, but also allow iOS users to experience Android Wear apps – keep in mind that Android Wear watches can connect to iPhones. Why aren't new bezelless phones 16:9?

Because they use some weird aspect ratios you have big black bars 90% of the time so the bezelless feature is wasted. You might as well have a normal phone. No point to having no bezels when you still have big black bars while gaming, watching videos and using some apps. Are there any smartphones announced to be bezelless but 16:9? Until a 16:9 bezelless phone releases or the standard aspect ratio changes to one some of the phones use I see no point in buying a bezelless phone. No net neutrality = inspecting your data packets

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J Thought this might be a point worth making.
